HOME!
We are settling in! (4/11/11)
We love our new house and the boys are really enjoying the extra space
Life is good! (3/29/11)
We have been in the house for ten nights now and are really settling in. Still a whole lot to do but it is becoming more manageable. Life is good in the Robinette house. Which brings me to all the devestation I see around me as of late. The Japan Tsunami and 3 deaths of people I knew. My mortality looms and the awareness that life is fleeting has really hit close this past week. I guess it is fitting that I am getting the “house in order” since you never know when your time has arrived.
Saturday…. boy am I wiped out! ((3/19/11)
The move is WAY …WAY more than I expected it would be. After nine months of preparation I felt ready… but it is just like we decided to do this just yesterday!
Without the help of our “Most Valuable Players” Bill and Chris… I thing I would STILL be looking at the job of disassembly and re-assembly of our custom bed and wardrobe. Thank you sooooo much… You two have saved my day! Tomorrow at 9am we start again!
Note: we watched Sid the Science Kid on the new BIG TV… on DVD since the Direct TV is STILL not here…. and Sid was HUGE! Alejandro and Armando had a blast! Now… I must go to sleep on the floor on our mattress since the bed did not make it back together yet.
Saturday we Move In! ((3/16/11)
The house is painted, internet has been scheduled, Direct TV is coming, furniture has been delivered… we are days away from moving in! The entire family has been pitching in. The boys are arranging their toys, Abuelita is cleaning and carting boxes, Grandma is helping find the perfect sink and faucet, Papo is building custom toy chests. What could be better!
Closing on Friday! Painting this week. (3/5/11)
Well things have worked themselves out and we are heading to a closing this coming Friday. We got permission from the owners to put things in the garage and use this week (we are off for Spring Break!) to prep the house. So I will be spackling, sanding and painting.
After a rocky start with the Financing we are finally getting to Underwriting! (3/4/11)
Jumped the appropriate hurdles and now we are looking much better.
Two weeks later and some good news! (3/3/11)
Got the banks approval letters! BOTH of them. Going for financing taday and RUSHING to try andf close in 6 business days! Patricia and I are off all next week and we cannot move in until AFTER our break! Oh well… Thanks you St Joseph…. You may live in our tary for eternity.
What happened to ‘Attention to Detail’? (2/14/11)
The 2nd bank sent their approval letter… WRONG price, WRONG commission = USELESS letter of approval! Now the letter must be adjusted with the correct info… how long will THAT take?
Another week… more silence! (2/13/11)
We have less that 30 days to close according to the 1st Banks letter!
It Continues to Drag on… (2/9/11)
The second bank has not responded and the rates are rising!
OMG when will this end! (1/29/11) The Sellers 2nd bank now wants to review its own appraisal… for less than $4,000.00 coming to them I think some lawyers reviewing the case are squeezing for more money. This is ridiculous!
~~~~~~~
Today is a better day! (1/15/11) The Sellers bank finally accepted the lower appraisal amount. We are now days away from getting full approval in this venture. All we need now is the 2nd banks sign-off and our financing. A long wait is coming to an end.
Highest and Best Offer!-Still Waiting (9/16/10) The bank has asked for our “Highest and Best Offer”. After 3 months I guess they think we can do better. It doesn’t matter much since I think the appraisal will come in below our offer!
We are getting closer and closer to actually calling this house our home. It is a long and arduous road working with a short sale but, ultimately, it will be worth it. The neighbors will certainly recognize our cars since we have been stalking the house weekly! We have been trying to get the boys used to the thought of a new place to call home. The Entrance
